Professor Douglas Darko Agyei, Director in Charge of Koforidua and Adweso is a distinguished Professor of Mathematics Education and Acting Provost of the College of Education Studies at the University of Cape Coast (UCC). He holds a PhD in Curriculum Design & Instructional Technology from the University of Twente, Netherlands, a Master's in Applied Mathematics from the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany, and a Bachelor's in Mathematics Education from UCC, Ghana. Recognized as Ghana's leading EdTech researcher in 2021 and consistently ranked among the top EdTech scientists in Africa (2023–2025), Professor Agyei has authored over 90 scholarly articles and consulted on numerous ICT in education projects funded by global institutions including UNESCO, Microsoft, and USAID. He has represented Africa at three EDUsummIT global summits in Bulgaria, Canada, and Japan. He has served as a Visiting Scholar in South Africa, Japan, and the USA and held various leadership roles at UCC including Dean, Vice Dean, and Head of Department. As the founding Director of UCC's Centre for Teaching Support, he championed innovations in higher education pedagogy across Africa. Currently, he oversees over 500 staff as Acting Provost while mentoring numerous postgraduate students. Professor Agyei brings to the Board extensive academic, research, and administrative expertise, with a deep commitment to strategic development and innovation in education and governance. He serves as the Chairman of the ICT and Cyber Security Committee.
